The New Standard The “new normal”
The New Standard The “new normal” has always been a well-stated fact that has also been controversial at times. As the pandemic wave shifts, a series of vaccines are being developed, and international restrictions brought on by the pandemic are being eased across the country (Berg-Weger & Schroepfer, 2020), there are still a few common questions. What is the new normal, and are we headed back to the old normal? (that is, how it has been done so far) In this multitude of questions, one thing is clear, that is to say, the worldwide monetary and social overflow makes the ‘ordinary typical unrealistic. According to Buheji and Ahmed (2020b), these values are evident in the zeal and focus on upcoming events; that is, preparing for and responding to a crisis in the future is becoming an essential part of the mindset of both current and future generations. The knowledge sector is another area where this new normal value is readily apparent. Acceptance and distribution of academic materials typically take some time, but the current processing time is just a few weeks. As a result, this massive shift demonstrates the utmost urgency with which information and knowledge are being disseminated amid the pandemic’s surge, characteristics that are likely to be maintained as a “new normal value” in the post-pandemic era (Gianola et al.). 2020). Healthcare and safety institutions around the world are likely to experience the most noticeable shifts in this “new normal.” It is anticipated that government and individual attitudes toward health and safety will undergo more stringent changes. The majority of nations and international organizations will increase their emergency preparedness and budgets for health and safety in this new normal. According to Buheji and Ahmed (2020a), safety equipment like personal protective equipment (PPE) and devices for prevention and detection would be available and assessable starting in 2020 and continuing through 2023. Since the pandemic would have impacted both trivial and fundamental aspects of our means of subsistence, the new normal would be completely novel and unprecedented.
